Integrative Medical Research? The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and the UCLA Center for East West Medicine co-sponsored a colloquium on future directions for CAIM research. October 28, 2006  Advances in Integrative East-West Medicine: A Fifty-Year Perspective The UCLA Center for East-West Medicine hosted a conference featuring a keynote presentation by world-renowned scholar Professor Chen Keji. The conference was held at UCLA’s Jules Stein Auditorium.
 
Professor Chen is one of the most prominent pioneers of integrative East-West medicine in China. He is Academician of the China Academy of Sciences, President of the China Association of Integrative Medicine, President of the China Association of Geriatrics, and is the Wallis Annenberg Visiting Professor in Integrative East-West Medicine.

Two of Dr. Chen’s protégés also presented. Dr. Hao Xu, Associate Professor, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing discussed “Advances in East-West Geriatrics Research in China” and Dr. Jun Song, Associate Professor, Xiyun Hospital, Beijing presented on “Advances in Research in Integrative East-West Cardiovascular Medicine in China.”
