The Shirley Hui Memorial Fund

The Shirley Hui Memorial Fund has been established to support education in integrative East-West medicine. Several award programs have been created to open the doors of a range of study and professional advancement opportunities to highly motivated students and trainees in medicine who aspire to improve healthcare with integrative medicine in their future careers.

Mrs. Shirley Hui was born Shirley Manchu Tin in Hong Kong. She moved to Los Angeles to attend Pepperdine University, and in 1974 married Ka-Kit Hui, then a young medical student at UCLA, and now the Wallis Annenberg Professor in Integrative Medicine and the Founder and Director of the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. As a partner and co-founder of the Center, Mrs. Hui maintained sustained and deep conviction of the benefits of integrative East-Medicine, and was a beneficiary of this approach before her passing in 2010.
