Activities in China

In June 2006 a delegation from the Center visited the province of Xinjiang, China. The visit included lectures by Dr. Hui, Dr. Taw, and Dr. Tu on various health related topics. Meetings were conducted with the Xinjiang Ministry of Health and the Xinjiang Medical University.

Dr. Hui deliverd a keynot speech titled "Integrative East-West medicine: a prespective from the US" in HK

PMPH is one of the largest publishing houses both in the number and influence of its published medical and medicinal publications in Chinese publishing field. In the afternoon of August 25, Dr. Hui paid a return visit for Dr. Hu’ June visit to our center. Besides Dr. Guochen Hu, president, Dr. Fang Ji, Director of Foreign Affairs and Dr. Shui Liu, associate director and also in charge of TCM international publishing from PMPH, Prof. Zhengji Li, vice president and Prof. Xingdong He, vice secretary in general from World Federation of Chinese Medicine also attended this meeting. Both parties have a thorough discussion on publishing of English version of TCM and integrative medicine books.

Dr. Hui was invited by China-Japan Friendship Hospital(CJFH) to give a keynote seminar to doctors and researchers in the hospital. The seminar on Aug.24, titled as “The development and challenge of TCM and integrative medicine in the US”, attracted about 100 young scholars not only from the fields of TCM and integrative medicine, but also from western medicine. There are two group discussions before and after this seminar

Dr. Hui participated in the National Conference on Blood Stasis and gave a keynote speech: Introducing the Concept of Blood Stasis Pattern to Modern Healthcare Based on the Biomedical Model: Some Strategic Considerations. This seminar causes warmly discusses.

March 31- April 3, 2005: Dr. Hui participated as a keynote speaker at ISCM International Conference on Chinese Medicine in Macau, China. The title is "Improving cardiovascular care through a patient-centered integrative East-West Medical model: a US prespective".

March 24-30, 2005: Dr. Hui, Weijun Zhang, and Dr. Tu gave seminars on “East-West Medicine: U.S. Perspective” in Fujian Province, China. The audience included Ministry of Health Officials, Medical School Deans, and faculty.

Dr. Hui was invited to give a seminar titled "The development and evaluation of Integrative medicine in the US" to Taiwan Association of Integrative Medicine in Taipei in October, 2004

Dr. Hui received honorory professor from HKBU in Nov., 2004
