China Initiative
Visiting Scholars Program
The goal of the Visiting Scholars Program is to train outstanding physicians, scientists, researchers and clinicians to enable them to become the leaders who will transform health on a global level using the integrative East-West health paradigm . The Visiting Scholars Program is the international extension of the premium the Center places on education.
The program will enable scholars to:
- exchange ideas with the integrative medicine community in the U.S.
- become better acquainted with the U.S. healthcare system
- share their specific research interests
- speak on the current state of integrative medicine in their home country
- create links between their home institutions and the Center for East-West Medicine
For the foreseeable future, Visiting Scholars will be with us for either three months or six months. Their training is very rigorous. It includes, but is not limited to, intensive language and culture classes; attendance at the Internal Medicine noon seminar series and Grand Rounds; meetings with and training in integrative East-West Medicine by the Center’s faculty; introductions to leading physicians in their medical specialties; attending K-30 classes, an introduction to clinical research protocols; preparation of a research project in each respective specialty; and leadership training.
